Delta Thailand joined leading companies in Thailand to sign an MOU for the Higher Education Sandbox Project by the Ministry of Higher Education Science Research and Innovation (MHESI). The Thailand Ministry of Higher Education project includes Delta and key industry players Infineon Technology Thailand, PTT, Hana Micro Electronics, Analog Device Thailand and Silicon Craft Technology.
Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Yongyuth Pakdoungjan, Delta Senior Director of Government and Public Affairs Department, said “Delta is honored to join this pivotal moment in advancing Thailand’s education and workforce development in the semiconductor and advanced electronics sector. This initiative underscores a collective commitment to empower Thai students with the skills needed to thrive in the digital age and contribute to the country's technological advancement.”
The Higher Education Sandbox Project is a collaboration between the MHESI, National Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Policy Council (NXPO) and the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) with the Thai Microelectronics Center (TMEC), a research unit for silicon process technology, and a network of higher education institutions under the supervision of the MHESI.
In addition, Delta and other leading semiconductor and advanced electronics companies in Thailand at seven locations will work with the government to jointly determine plans and drive the development of high-skilled talent to meet the nation’s development needs in the short to long term.
This pioneering project aims to accelerate advanced talent development to drive the country's economy and attract foreign investment in Thailand. Thai talents joining the project can benefit from a world-class learning track for careers in advanced industries upon graduation.
Learning focuses on practical training onsite at the project’s industrial partners. In contrast with traditional education, the project’s training curriculums are flexible and focus on individual performance rather than grades.
