Delta Thailand Volunteers Dive into Coral Conservation at Samae San Island
By DET Corp Comms - Published May 29, 2026
A Fresh Experience with Marine Conservation Delta Thailand volunteers took a meaningful step toward marine conservation with a coral restoration activity at Samae San Island, Sattahip District, Chonburi Province. Held on March 18, the activity brought together employees, management representatives, and team members from different departments for a hands-on experience in caring for the ocean.
The event took place at the coral research and conservation project area around Samae San Island, where participants had the chance to learn more about coral reefs, marine ecosystems, and the important role these underwater habitats play in keeping our oceans healthy.
Volunteers from Delta Thailand, including representatives from the Delta Electronics Foundation, also joined the Aquatic Resources Research Institute of Chulalongkorn University to visit the coral research and conservation project and explore how Delta can continue supporting coral restoration in the future. Why Coral Reefs Matter
The purpose of the activity was simple but powerful: to support marine conservation, raise environmental awareness, and encourage employees to take part in protecting natural resources together. For many participants, it was not just another CSR activity. It was a refreshing opportunity to step closer to nature, understand the ocean from a new perspective, and see how small actions can help create a positive impact.
Coral reefs may look peaceful and beautiful from the surface, but they are busy homes for countless marine species. They help maintain the balance of marine ecosystems and protect coastlines from waves and erosion. Restoring coral reefs is therefore an important part of preserving the richness and long-term sustainability of the ocean.
Today, coral restoration matters more than ever as coral reefs across more than 83 countries and territories have already been affected by high sea temperatures caused by global warming. Delta Foundation has identified coral restoration as one of its key focus areas.
In addition to collaborating with leading international research institutions, such as the National University of Singapore and the Australian Institute of Marine Science, Delta Foundation is also honored to partner with Chulalongkorn University to advance coral reef restoration efforts in Thailand. By bringing together Delta’s technologies, innovation capabilities, and research expertise, the initiative aims to help researchers identify solutions to coral bleaching more efficiently, while contributing to Delta Foundation’s broader long-term goal of conserving 300 coral species by 2030. Team Spirit by the Sea
Throughout the day, participants joined educational sessions about marine ecosystems, learned about coral restoration methods, and supported coral conservation activities around the coastal area. The atmosphere was energetic and inspiring, with everyone showing curiosity, teamwork, and care for the environment.
One of the most memorable moments was seeing colleagues come together with real dedication and enthusiasm while experiencing the beauty of the marine environment up close. Many arrived feeling excited and curious, and left feeling proud, fulfilled, and even more inspired to protect the environment. Small Actions, Big Blue Impact
The activity also reflected Delta’s commitment to doing business responsibly while supporting environmental sustainability and local communities. Beyond the beautiful scenery and team spirit, the day carried a deeper message. Protecting nature is not something far away from us. It can begin with everyday choices, shared awareness, and a willingness to care.
The coral restoration activity was a gentle reminder that everyone has a part to play in protecting the ocean and marine life. Whether through reducing waste, using resources wisely, or joining conservation efforts, small actions can grow into something meaningful when we do them together. For Delta volunteers, this day at Samae San Island was about both restoring coral and growing a stronger connection with nature and each other at the same time.
