Bangkok, Thailand, May 20, 2020–Even though COVID-19 was a tough time for us all, we’re proud of everyone at Delta Thailand who helped to prevent infections and support our communities. Here’s a look at some of the main activities we’ve been involved in:
In April, our HR department donated 200 protective face shields for frontline medical personnel and 100,000 THB to the Samutprakan Hospital for the purchase of COVID-19 protective equipment. Jackie Chang, Delta Thailand President, represented the company to present the protective equipment and funds to Dr. Namphol Danpipat, Samutprakan Hospital Director.
In May, 93 Delta volunteers joined the marine police forces to donate blood for the Siriraj Hospital blood bank at the Thai Marine Police Division in Samutprakarn. Siriraj Hospital is the oldest and largest hospital in Thailand and one of the busiest medical centers in Southeast Asia. It’s also the primary teaching hospital of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University.
Because of the restrictions on movement and social distancing measures to stop the spread COVID-19, there are a lot fewer blood donors in Thailand. Siriraj Hospital requested Delta’s assistance for A and B group blood donations because our company has a large healthy workforce with no cases of COVID-19 infections and a long-term program for regular blood donations.
On May 25, 234 DET employees volunteered to donate blood for the Thai Red Cross Society at an activity held at Delta’s Bangpoo headquarters. Despite COVID-19, we continue our long-term program with the Thai Red Cross Society while taking special precautions including screening and temperature checks for volunteers, extra alcohol-based sanitization and personal protective equipment for medical personnel.
Delta Thailand thanks everyone for your care for our communities and dedication to be a positive force for good in our society. Together we will help rebuild a smarter and greener nation and region!
