Delta Thailand Awards 2022 Northern Thailand School Scholarships for Rural Academic Development

Bangkok, Thailand, July 26, 2022- Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL. awarded the 2022 Northern Thailand School Scholarships worth 979,000 baht to 51 schools and 468 students in both Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai Provinces. In addition to the annual company sponsorship, Mr. Jackie Chang, Delta Thailand President, has personally sponsored bursaries for four students since 2021.

Delta’s annual Northern Thailand School Scholarship project aims to assist and encourage rural students in need and help upgrade facilities at schools in remote mountainous locations for a better learning environment.

Previously, Delta has sponsored the renovation of school grounds, classrooms, lighting, bathrooms and roofing. Delta also donated essential supplies including projectors, fans, water pumps, water filters, printers, desks and chairs.

Delta’s academic assistance funds are in two categories:

  1. Bursary for underprivileged senior high school students with excellent academic performance.
  2. Scholarships for underprivileged elementary, junior high school and senior high school students with good academic performance.

This year, six students in Chiang Mai Province and six students in Chiang Rai Province received bursaries for outstanding students in financial need.

The 457 students receiving scholarships in 2022 are from 51 rural schools, including 237 students from 24 schools in Chiang Mai Province and 220 students from 27 schools in Chiang Rai Province.In 2001, the Delta Electronics Foundation began providing school facility subsidies for Northern Thailand schools. From 2011 to 2022, Delta Thailand offered more than 10 million baht in scholarships and bursaries to 2,265 students in Chiang Mai Province and 2,248 students in Chiang Rai Province.

Delta supports education for local talent and development in Thailand the scholarship program aims to help students reach their full academic potential and support economic development in this rural and remote region.
