Bangkok, Thailand, March 3, 2020– Delta Thailand’s (DET)Safety Team, HR and Corporate Communications work together to set and communicate our company’s policy and processes to keep everyone safe from the COVID-19 virus.

Setting Company Policy and Prevention

At the outbreak of COVID-19 during Chinese New Year, DET management immediately formed an anti-epidemic taskforce in cooperation with Delta Group. This taskforce helped coordinate Delta’s global efforts and policies to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and minimize the health and business risks to employees and partners.

At Delta’s Thailand headquarters and factories, the DET Safety team and Management set company policy to screen everyone before they enter the company premises. Anyone coming from a WHO-classified high-risk area in the last 14 days or with a body temperature ≥37.2°C can’t come inside.DET Safety and Facility departments restricted all entry and exit to one front and rear gate and setup thermal scanners to measure the temperature of all employees.

Ongoing Prevention Measures and Communication

All visitors and employees returning from abroad and vendors must provide and verify their recent travel history and check their body temperature before entering the main gate. Inside DET, departments must monitor employee body temperatures and submit daily reports. There are also hand sanitizer stations available for everyone around the building. We stepped up health checks of canteen and cleaning staff and encourage them to wear masks.

DET HR supports employee inquiries and work-at-home applications while DET Corporate Communications announce company policy and launch awareness campaigns. Recent COVID-19 prevention awareness campaigns included a drive called “Why not Wai?” to encourage everyone to use local greetings instead of handshakes and signs and videos to promote frequent handwashing and sanitizing with alcohol gel.

DET United Against COVID-19

As COVID-19 continues rampaging across the globe, DET stands united and determined to stay abreast of the developing situation and update company policy and defenses to better protect our employees and partners. We hopeall our healthy teams can continue providing great value to our customers around the world. Thank you all for your support during this challenging time.
