Bangkok, Thailand, April 9, 2020- Delta Thailand joined the national fight against COVID-19 by donating 10,500 of our high-efficiency DC brushless blowers and supporting the domestic development and production of a Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for Thailand’s frontline COVID-19 medical personnel.

Delta Thailand, welcomed the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) request to donate parts and help develop a new PAPR PPE for medical personnel treating COVID-19 patients. Mr. Jackie Chang, President of Delta Electronics Thailand, represented the company to donate the 10,500 BFB1012EH-A model DC brushless blowers to our local government, research and industry partners.

Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) and PPE

The joint development project involved the DET DC fan team, Chulalongkorn University, the Thai Subcontracting Promotion Association and Vajira Hospital. Our partners first tested Delta’s BFB1012EH-A DC brushless blower with other leading global PPE brands and then chose it because of its superior performance. The tests clearly proved our BFB1012EH-A DC blower provides more pressure and more airflow, at O/P 7.3 CFM, and with a 7-12.6V operating voltage it runs a few hours longer than other tested ones.

Air provided by our BFB1012EH-A DC blower passes through an H14 thickness 1.5 medical-grade high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter to supply safe breathing air to medical workers wearing the positive-pressure mask type PPE in COVID-19 treatment wards. The blower gets power from a USB power bank and is easy to charge anywhere without requiring a special charger like some other brands. This means medical personnel are safer and more comfortable during their shift. Longer battery life and easier charging will also reduce interruptions and increase their work efficiency.

Developed and produced in Thailand, Delta’s DC fans and blower products are critical components for vital medical equipment used to fight COVID-19. Our long-term investment in local R&D and manufacturing capabilities supports our business with top global customers and is an engine for innovation that contributes to Thai society.
