Delta Electronics (Thailand) Public Company Limited reaffirmed its role as a catalyst for innovation and talent development with the successful hosting of Delta Cup 2025. Now in its second year, this signature competition brought together 72 of Thailand’s brightest engineering students from seven leading universities, transforming ideas into cutting-edge solutions for sustainable smart manufacturing.

The event opened in grand style with addresses from Mr. Suthiket Thatpitak-Kul, Deputy Secretary General of the Board of Investment (BOI), and Dr. Punpermsak Arunee, Assistant Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI).

This year’s theme, “Sustainable Smart Manufacturing,”, was a timely reflection of global industry trends underscoring how the pursuit of cleaner, more efficient production is both an environmental imperative and a major business opportunity. With 19 teams representing Chulalongkorn University, Kasetsart University, Mahidol University, Burapha University, KMUTNB, KMUTT, and KMITL, the competition was a showcase of technical prowess, creative thinking, and cross-disciplinary teamwork.

Projects were developed using Delta’s advanced industrial technologies, blending classroom knowledge with real-world industrial application. In a high-energy format, each team had 10 minutes to pitch their prototype followed by 5 minutes of intensive Q&A with a judging panel of industry experts.

Evaluation focused on innovation, technical execution, creativity, and presentation quality standards that mirror professional industry expectations.

Thailand faces an urgent need for 1.08 million high-skilled professionals between 2025 and 2029, with priorities in smart electronics, robotics, aviation, and digital technologies. By 2029, the target is to cultivate 280,000 specialists in semiconductors, electric vehicles, and AI. The Delta Cup plays a pivotal role in meeting this goal helping students hone the problem-solving skills essential for leadership in high-tech sectors.

The Grand Prize THB 50,000 and an exclusive Delta Wujiang Innovation Tour in China went to The Blue Balaenas from Mahidol University for their Infra-Hospital Autonomous Patient Transportation System. This intelligent, network-connected smart trolley promises to revolutionize hospital logistics and patient care efficiency.

Following the success of the Thai editions, Delta Thailand is gearing up to expand the Delta Cup to universities across Southeast Asia and Australia. This regional reach will open doors for greater cross-border collaboration, wider knowledge sharing, and accelerated sustainable innovation.
