Samutprakarn, Thailand, August 20, 2020– This year was a very special Safety and Energy Week for everyone at Delta Thailand as we took some time to relax and rejoice in our victories over COVID-19 while committing to yet another year of better workplace safety, environmental conservation and energy saving.
DET’s Safety and Energy Week is an annual activity to raise employee awareness and this year our non-stop production throughout the global pandemic is cause for celebration. Leading up to the event, employees at each plant participated in a series of themed contests including:
At our onsite events at each plant, everyone was welcomed to join a variety of fun activities hosted by the Safety and Energy Management teams to reinforce education on workplace safety, road safety and energy saving. This year’s activities focused on implementing new normal safety procedures and we strictly applied the company facemask policy.
Mr. Jackie Chang, Delta Thailand President, joined in the fun to thank everyone for doing their part to keep each other safe during the COVID-19 crisis. “At the same time, we would like to thank everyone for helping us make a cleaner and healthier Thailand by saving electricity and water and not using plastic bags. With your help, we are making excellent progress towards our goals to reduce energy use by 30% and water waste by 15%,” he said.
Throughout the COVID-19 emergency, Delta prioritized the safety and health of all our Delta family and we received an “Excellent” score in the Thaipat Institute’s Corporate Health Check Report on COVID-19 for our outstanding response and preventative measures to protect employees and stakeholders.
Please note that we are continuing to distribute face masks daily and our production continues without interruption throughout the pandemic thanks to the daily efforts of each of our teammates!
