Christmas in July Brings Winter Cheer to Delta Australia

By Delta Australia - Published September 11, 2026

Christmas may be a year-end celebration, but for the Delta Australia team, the fun did not have to wait until December. With July marking the heart of winter in Australia, the Delta Australia team brought a little Christmas cheer to the cooler months through lively Christmas in July celebrations.

This is another year the team has kept the tradition going. Sydney and Melbourne marked the occasion separately. Each office added its own flavor to the day. Across both celebrations, the recipe stayed simple: barbecue, sport and time to reconnect beyond the working day.

Sydney: Barbecue, Football and Ping-Pong

In Sydney, the barbecue was one of the highlights of the celebration. A generous spread of freshly grilled food brought colleagues around the grill and dining table, where they could relax, share dishes and catch up away from their usual routines.

The grill became a lively focal point throughout the gathering, with festive touches, easy conversations and shared laughter adding to the atmosphere. The team also watched part of the FIFA Club World Cup together, cheering on the Australian team and sharing the excitement of the match.

The ping-pong tournament brought another round of friendly competition to the celebration. Fast rallies, friendly competition and enthusiastic support from colleagues on the sidelines kept the energy high and gave everyone another opportunity to interact beyond their usual work routines.

Melbourne: A Friendly Game of Soccer

In Melbourne, colleagues marked the occasion with a friendly game of soccer. The office became an energetic indoor pitch as team members took turns dribbling, passing and cheering one another on.

The activity brought movement, laughter and a welcome break from daily routines. It also gave colleagues the chance to connect in a relaxed setting, enjoy some friendly competition and create shared memories outside the usual work environment.

Shared Moments, Stronger Connections

Held separately in Sydney and Melbourne, the celebrations shared the same spirit of connection and enjoyment. Each activity gave colleagues space to step away from their daily responsibilities, take part in something different and spend time together in an informal setting.

Whether gathered around the barbecue in Sydney or playing soccer in Melbourne, colleagues created moments that help build familiarity, strengthen relationships and make collaboration feel more natural in the working day.

Thank you to the Delta Australia teams for bringing such enthusiasm and positive energy to Christmas in July. The celebrations may have taken place in separate offices, but the warmth, energy and team spirit they created can carry forward into the months ahead.
