Back in 1988, Delta made a historic decision to set up a company in Thailand. This was the start of our remarkable 35-year journey of building a sustainable company together with you. This year, we are having special activities and events for all of you to enjoy. From our veterans who were with us from Day 1 to newcomers, we are happy to have you join us in our mission to provide innovative, clean and energy-efficient solutions for a better tomorrow!
And did you know that Thailand was the first overseas location for Delta? Our arrival in the Kingdom marked the beginning of our global expansion from Taiwan to be a world leader in power and thermal management solutions. After many highs and lows, we now see the global manufacturing industry turning its focus again on Southeast Asia for a more diversified and resilient global supply chain. At Delta, we believe that it is: “Time for Thailand”!
But why did Delta choose to come to Thailand and continue investing here? Over three decades ago, Delta management saw the potential in Southeast Asia and Thailand was a natural choice as the 2nd largest regional economy with industrial infrastructure, global logistical links and a business-friendly environment. Most of all, Delta saw the talent and motivation of our local Thai team who helped set up our first Plant 1 in Bangpoo Industrial Estate and made our first product shipment possible by November 1989.
From the beginning, Delta Thailand strives to be a Thai company with a global work environment and standard. The teamwork between our Thai and international members helped us grow from producing electronics components to many of the key products driving Delta’s global growth including power systems for data centers, telecom and ICT, fans and blowers, networking infrastructure and EV power electronics.
Today almost 100% of our Production line staff at Thai nationals and the majority are female. The majority of our engineers are Thai and our full-function R&D centers offer job scope and opportunities, unlike other electronics companies in the county. In our 35-year anniversary, we are doubling down on our investment in Thailand and welcome you to explore more opportunities to grow at Delta.
In this issue of 360, we present a very special edition of our popular DET Voices mini-podcast in direct response to feedback from you. Here, four Delta people talk about how we can have better team building and what actions we can take for employee engagement.
In the Focus section, we go to Australia where the Delta team held their first-ever partner summit called Delta Connect 2024.
