Celebrating Pride Together at Delta

By KK Chong and David Nakayama - Published July 26, 2023

Three years ago, we took the pioneering step to invite the LGBT community at Delta Thailand to share their views on Pride Month. This was the first time for any Delta employees at any location worldwide could speak on a company platform on what Pride means to them.

This small step proved to be the catalyst to propel our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion or DEI initiative forward, which is now spreading across our worldwide Delta locations. Of course, the recognition of our LGBT community at Delta would never have been possible without our preexisting efforts to empower and uplift women and other under-represented groups at Delta.

As powerful and disruptive technologies like AI and Automation reshape our world and even compete with humans for work, it’s important to note that our company’s ESG focus remains steadfast. That is, to improve the lives of all humans through innovations and social contributions for a better tomorrow. Let’s join hands to break the reactionary chains of corruption and bias that plague society and make progress towards a more transparent, fair and empowering future!

In this issue of 360, we bring you our third Pride Month special edition of our popular DET Voices mini-podcast. Here four members of our LGBT community talk frankly about how we can all support diversity and what “Pride” means to them personally.
