Working Together for a Better Tomorrow

By KK Chong and David Nakayama - Published May 20, 2024

International Workers' Day or Labor Day is observed every May 1st as a time to appreciate everyone’s hard work over our 35 Years of sustainable development in Thailand. We celebrate the thousands of women and men who have been part of Delta Thailand's growth story for over three decades. Your two hands proudly build "Made in Thailand" products for the world and forge a sustainable future for our next generation.

Every day, our brave and hardworking people at Delta Thailand factories work relentlessly to satisfy global customers and support families, communities and the nation. We have braved floods and a pandemic and emerged stronger, together. And we are growing fast. You can now look forward to new factories, R&D centers and offices and many more jobs at Delta Thailand over the next few years.

A core message of Labor Day is unity for all workers. Here on our 360 online platform, you can connect with workmates at Delta factories, warehouses, labs and offices in Thailand and around the region. We welcome anyone to share ideas and experiences from Production workers in the Thailand factory to the Field Service Engineers at customer sites in Singapore. Sharing your ideas and feedback is an important part of creating a better tomorrow for everyone at Delta.

Over the last four years, we have shared your voices and often the most based and practical folks you’ll ever meet are found right here on the shopfloor or onsite at the Genba (現場) dealing every day with real people and solving real issues. Beyond work, your stories show the true impact we have on our communities and families. From village schools to wildlife habitats, your care helps to preserve our planet and prepare the next generations for the future.

In this May issue, we focus on our work to build a career and a life to be proud of with our own two hands. In our Focus section, we hear Mr. Niranjan Nayak, MD of Delta Electronics India, share about the current state of EV charging in India and Delta how Ultra Fast Charging solutions fit into the landscape. We join the milestone partnership between leading developer Origin Property and Delta for EV charging and smart building solutions in Thailand.

He shares his rich experiences and leadership lessons as well as his strategic vision for growth at DET.

The On site section features a special Labor Day edition of our popular DET Voices series where four Delta Thailand women share how they fight for to build a career, improve working conditions and support a sustainable economy with mutual benefits for all. We also see how Delta is working with the Thai government to find more local suppliers at the 2024 Delta Sourcing Day.

In India, we join the exciting Innovation on Wheels initiative to introduce Delta’s localized solutions to audiences in major cities across the subcontinent. This state-of-the-art technology truck is a mobile exhibition on a three-month journey across 50+ cities and covering over 10,000 kilometers. We then go to the beautiful Pacific Islands to see how Delta Australia captivated local audiences with the latest data centre and telecom power solutions at PITA AGM 2024.

In Thailand, our BA and EIS teams successfully launched VIVOTEK’s AI-powered intelligent surveillance solutions for the Thai market alongside IAQ and EV Charging mainstays at the Architect Expo 2024. The Delta Recruitment team hosted Campus Days at two universities to meet and greet engineering talents and introduce career opportunities. DET also hosted a visiting student group from Temasek Polytechnic, Singapore organized by KMITL, Thailand.

In the Our Success section, we celebrate Delta Thailand's entry into the first Fortune Asia Future 30 list recognizing the long-term growth potential of leading companies in APAC. We also celebrate the amazing success of Delta EV chargers installed by our customers at the Indonesia Presidential Palaces. In addition, Delta Australia announced a formal distributor agreement with Complete-Coms, a leading provider of communications solutions in New Zealand!

In the Fun section, we invite everyone at Delta Thailand to refer jobs to their friends and get the chance to win cash prizes.

Finally, DET Chairman and former President, James Ng shares his strategic insights into the opening of Delta Plant 8 and the R&D center this year as well as his vision for our growth in this month’s Town Hall section.
