Nakhon Nayok Province is a popular place to visit in central Thailand. It’s only 130 kilometers from Bangkok and only takes two hours to reach by car. When talking about Nakhon Nayok, many people think of adventure activities. You can enjoy nature on your own or you can enjoy group activities such as ATV riding, white water rafting, kayaking or paintball.

Some of the province’s famous natural-style attractions that come to mind include Khun Dan Prakan Chon Dam, Nang Rong Waterfall, Sarika Waterfall and Wang Ta Krai Garden and many others. But did you know what is the hottest attraction right now?

If you guessed, Khao Chong Lom then yes! This is the latest attraction that is trending on social media right now. No matter which social media app you have you’ll definitely see a lot of Thais “checking in” there.

Khao Chong Lom is located behind the Khun Dan Prakan Chon Dam. It is a gorge with cool breezes blow year-round. This place allows you to experience the lush greenery that covers every hill. Wherever you look, you will only see green vegetation.

You will be refreshed by the hidden springs that flow water through streams and rocks and create a cool climate. You can splash around in the waterfalls or streams but just have to prepare a set of dry clothes to change into after.

Khao Chong Lom is a great place to visit at the beginning of the rainy season because the amount of water is not too much or too little. This makes travel very convenient because the way to get to Khao Chong Lom is by first going to Khun Dan Prakan Chon Dam. There you buy a ticket to board a boat that takes you to the gorge.

There will be a total of four tourist attractions in the valley namely Pha Ngam Ngon Waterfall, Khlong Khram Waterfall, Ton Nam Waterfall and Khao Chong Lom Waterfall. If you’re visiting during the low tide it will be difficult to travel by boat. So you may have to walk a bit further.

My tips for those preparing for a trip to Khao Chong Lom is to dress in bright colors to stand out from the green of the valley in case you get lost. Wear sneakers or anti-slip boots if traveling during the rainy season as the paths may be more slippery than usual.

Carry a small water bottle with you if you as you can easily get thirsty. Of course, when traveling in nature it’s harder to find things than in places with convenience stores so be prepared. Lastly, don't forget to bring a trash bag with you to help take care of our nature.
