On September 2, 2024, Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL. took another important step toward shaping the future of Thailand's tech talent by inaugurating its first Power E Lab at Kasetsart University. This lab is part of Delta’s ongoing commitment to fostering innovation, nurturing skilled professionals, and promoting sustainable growth through industry-academia collaboration. For all of us at Delta, this isn’t just about donating equipment—it’s about actively participating in developing the next generation of Thai innovators who will help drive the future of high-tech industries.
The Power E Lab plays a crucial role in our Research and Development (R&D) efforts, but it also has a deeper purpose: providing Thai students with the tools and real-world experiences they need to succeed in an increasingly technology-driven world. This project closely aligns with key government initiatives aimed at encouraging innovation and sustainable development, making it an important contribution to Thailand’s national strategy.
Mr. Yongyuth Pakdoungjan, Senior Director of Government and Public Affairs,
emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “For us at Delta, the launch of the Power E Lab is about more than just supporting education—it’s about giving students the opportunity to work with the technology of tomorrow. We believe this initiative will spark the kind of forward-thinking and problem-solving skills that will benefit not only Delta but Thailand as a whole.”
This new lab is one of several that Delta has established to help bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world application. Our goal is to ensure that students graduate with the practical knowledge needed to propel industries forward. As part of this ongoing initiative, Delta has already opened two other Power E Labs at King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok and King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. With advanced technology and instruments, these labs provide students with valuable hands-on experience, which is essential for supporting Thailand’s transition into a high-tech economy.
Another exciting aspect of the Power E Lab initiative is its focus on emerging technologies, especially as electric vehicles (EVs) continue to reshape industries. The lab will provide students with practical training in areas such as AC to DC power conversion, a critical skill in the EV sector. This hands-on learning experience prepares students not only to enter the workforce but also to lead the way in high-tech innovation.
Through partnerships with seven leading universities, we are building a strong pipeline of talent ready to shape the future of Thailand’s tech industries. As a Delta team, we should take pride in our contribution to this sustainable growth model. By directly investing in education and fostering collaboration between academia and industry, we are helping create a better future—not just for Delta, but for the entire country.
Looking ahead, Delta has announced plans to launch additional Power E Labs at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Chulalongkorn University, Burapha University, and Mahidol University throughout 2024.
This is just the beginning. By continuing to work together as a team and supporting projects like the Power E Labs, we are helping secure Delta's position as a leader in technology and sustainability—while also giving back to the communities and industries that have supported our success.
