Bangkok, Thailand, November 22, 2024 — Delta Electronics (Thailand) Public Company Limited, a global leader in power management and IoT-based smart green solutions, took part in the Generating a Cleaner Future Forum on November 19, 2024. Represented by Mr. Saroj Ruangsakulraj, Energy Management System Senior Manager, Delta contributed to the panel discussion titled "Growth Opportunity in Climate Challenge," sharing its vision and strategic approach to sustainability.
Setting ambitious goals to combat climate change and ensure long-term environmental responsibility, Delta Thailand has reported generating approximately 150,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually. Tackling this challenge head-on, the company has outlined clear targets: achieving 100% renewable energy by 2030 and reaching net-zero emissions by 2050.
Transitioning to Renewable Energy: A Commitment to RE100
Delta Thailand is actively addressing Scope 2 emissions, which represent 30% of the company’s total carbon footprint. Transitioning to green energy, such as installing solar rooftops, is a key part of our strategy. Currently, not over 10% of the energy used in our operations comes from renewable energy sources, and we are committed to scaling this significantly. As a global exporter, Delta is dedicated to meeting customer expectations for 100% green manufacturing, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability and innovation.
“Delta Thailand is committed to reaching the company’s RE100 target for 100% renewable energy in our operations by 2030,” said Mr. Saroj Ruangsakulraj, Energy Management System Senior Manager at Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL.
Harnessing Opportunities Amid Climate Change
The growing demand for energy-efficient and green solutions creates significant opportunities for Delta to drive positive change. With our expertise in high efficiency of power supply technology, we are well-positioned to support this market transition and deliver impactful solutions. Beyond offering innovative products, Delta has introduced an internal carbon pricing mechanism, where business units contribute to a carbon fund based on their energy usage. This fund is reinvested into sustainability initiatives, such as solar rooftop installations and automated energy-saving systems, fostering both innovation and operational efficiency. By integrating these efforts, Delta not only reduces costs but also cultivates a strong culture of sustainability across the organization.
Collaborating for Decarbonization
Delta Thailand serves as a vital link between customers and suppliers, fostering collaboration to reduce carbon emissions throughout the supply chain. As global expectations for sustainability rise, customers increasingly demand transparency, requiring detailed reporting on carbon generation across our operations. These expectations are not just valued—they are critical for compliance with international standards, including ISO certifications and the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
Reinforcing our commitment to decarbonization, Delta Thailand partners with leading universities to develop the next generation of engineers equipped with expertise in energy efficiency and sustainability. Programs like the Delta Power E-Lab and the Delta Energy Education Program (DEEP) provide hands-on training and real-world experience to drive innovation in sustainable technologies. Beyond these initiatives, Delta also extends its efforts to rural communities by installing solar panels in remote areas, bringing clean energy to regions without electricity access and amplifying our positive impact.
Partnering with Industry Leaders
Delta has also joined hands with companies like BIG, adopting low-carbon nitrogen for manufacturing processes. This collaboration exemplifies our dedication to sourcing sustainable materials and optimizing production efficiency.
A Vision for the Future
As Thailand works toward reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 30-40% by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, Delta aligns its goals with these national objectives. By integrating renewable energy, enhancing energy efficiency, and developing innovative green solutions, Delta Thailand is not just responding to market demands but driving them.
Delta Thailand remains steadfast in its mission to lead the way in sustainability, empowering our customers, partners, and employees to build a greener future. Together, we are turning today’s challenges into tomorrow’s opportunities.
