If the Earth Could Speak: Green Thoughts from Delta Thailand
By DET Corp Comms - Published May 29, 2026
Small habits can say a lot about how much we care for the world around us. For this World Environment Day feature, we asked three Delta Thailand employees from Design Engineering, Facility Management, and R&D EE Support to imagine one simple question. If the Earth could send us one message, what would it say?
Their answers were honest, creative, and easy to relate to. Some were thoughtful, some were practical, and one came with a little humor. Still, all three shared the same reminder. Protecting the environment does not always start with something big. It often begins with the choices we make every day at work and in our own lives. Patteera Nithisoponpat

How much do we care for our only home?
For our colleague from Design Engineering, the Earth’s message would not be a statement, but a question for all of us.
“If the Earth could send us one message, I think it would ask us to reflect on how much we value this planet, since it is the only home we all share.”
That simple question brings the topic close to daily life. At work, she believes small habits such as turning off electrical devices when they are not in use or bringing a personal lunch box can already make a difference. These are not difficult actions, but they help reduce waste and remind us to be more mindful of the resources we use.
If she could remove one type of waste from the office, she would choose food packaging waste. In her view, this type of waste is difficult to manage and is often not recycled properly. She also pointed out that many people overlook small, convenient habits that quietly create more waste, such as accepting a plastic bag for a small item when it is not really needed.
In her own life, she has stopped using plastic cotton buds and wet wipes because they become waste that cannot be recycled. Her message to colleagues is simple and encouraging.
“Do not underestimate your own actions. Even if they seem small, when everyone does them together, they can become something much bigger.”Panupun Mungkala

What if the Earth asked us to optimize?
For our Facility Management colleague, the Earth’s message would be short and clear. "Optimize".
He explained that in our work, we are often taught to reduce waste in processes and use resources efficiently. Now, he believes it is time to apply the same mindset to natural resources in a more serious way.
His everyday green habit is one that many of us can easily follow. Switch off unnecessary electrical appliances or equipment when they are not in use. It is a small action, but it helps save energy and supports environmental conservation.
If he could remove one type of waste from the office, he would choose single-use plastic. These items may be used for only a few minutes, but they can remain in the environment for many years. He has also made a personal change by stopping the use of plastic water bottles and switching to his own reusable cup, which helps reduce plastic waste every day.
One environmental action he feels people often overlook is preventive maintenance. When machines and electrical equipment are properly maintained, they can operate more efficiently, save energy, and reduce long-term environmental impact.
For him, sustainability is something everyone can take part in, just like good engineering work. It starts with small things within our control and grows stronger when we work together. Wiparat Saecoo

What if the Earth said it was about to burst?
Our colleague from R&D EE Support imagined the Earth sending a more vivid message.
“I feel like I am about to burst.”
Her answer reflects the pressure our planet is facing from global warming, greenhouse gases, pollution, dust, heat, and carbon dioxide emissions. She said we can already feel the changes around us, especially when hot seasons feel hotter than before and environmental changes become more visible in daily life.
At work, one simple habit she supports is reducing paper use. She shared that many teams at Delta are already trying to reduce paper consumption year by year. If she could remove one type of waste from the office, she would also choose paper, because paper comes from natural resources and reducing its use can help lessen environmental impact.
Another action she believes people often overlook is waste separation. Without proper separation, waste becomes harder to manage and recycle. For her, sorting waste is one of the important steps we can take to reduce environmental problems.
In her personal life, she has reduced the use of plastic bags. Plastic takes a long time to break down, and reducing plastic bags is one simple way to help protect the environment.
Her final message is direct and easy to remember.
“Protecting the environment is not only about protecting the Earth. It is also about protecting ourselves, so we can have a better quality of life and cleaner air.”
What Small Green Habit Can We Start Today?
Across the three stories, one message stands out clearly. Sustainability is not far from us. It is in how we switch off the lights, how we use paper, how we bring our own cup or lunch box, how we separate waste, and how we think before using something only once.
These may look like small actions, but they become powerful when many people do them together. At Delta, every green habit matters, and every employee can be part of building a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable future.
