The year 2020 had been a rough period globally with the COVID pandemic hitting our region hard. Despite this, the Delta Singapore IT team had some wonderful memories as it was the year of integration between the Delta Singapore IT and Australia IT teams.
I will not bore you with too many personal details of our IT team members, but let me just do a quick intro…
Meet the Delta SEA IT team
The members of our newly integrated Delta Singapore and Delta Australia IT team are:
Maya Wang (Manager) from Delta Singapore IT
Finally, we have our Delta Australia IT teammates (from left to right): Jim Wang, Yuan Wang and Teewara Ithiarwachkul (M).
The new Delta SEA IT team now supports Delta offices in a few countries in the region including Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Myanmar and Indonesia.
Although 2020 was a big year of our integration process, our team had some noticeable achievements that are worth mentioning:
Second runner up in the 2020 Delta Knowledge Management Contest
During this competition, Delta IT team members were able to share their experience in the DMS platform to improve knowledge management in their departments or projects. The many contributions and dedication of each of our team members to the sharing were inspiring and motivating for everyone.
Individual awards during the Delta Singapore virtual yearend event
Here the remarkable efforts of our manager Maya who just joined Delta in 2019 were on full display. Her efficiency and contribution to our team earned her a well-deserved award.
Well, I believe I speak for the team when I say that Maya has been a wonderful manager who knows how to be a leader and not just a boss. Although sometimes we do call her “lady boss”-Just kidding, I am so going to get in trouble after this
During the pandemic when most countries were in lockdown, Mohamed (*cough*, that’s me) was onsite to ensure that our Delta teammates have the IT support they need. Well of course it’s never said enough as there is no “I” in TEAM!
To sum it up, although it was a tough year, our SEA IT team thrived amid the challenges and learned from each other along the way. Going into 2021, we look forward to serving our Delta family better with our heads held up high. And of course, that does not stop us from having fun too while we are at it!
