Insights from the Delta Thailand 2022 Sales Awards Winners

Due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, this year’s annual Delta Thailand Sales Conference was held virtually. DET President Jackie Chang updated everyone on the company’s performance, strategy and business plan for further growth. Delta country managers from Southeast Asia and Australia also shared updates and future plans in their respective markets.

This year DET also held the first Sales Awards to honor the contributions of teams and individuals at Delta to drive performance in sales, industry standards and product training. Let’s hear some of the 2022 Sales Award winners share their thoughts on the recognition and their success at Delta.

1. Adam Carey, Delta Australia

-Delta Star Award Winner

Adam Carey created new a business stream of PCS, despite pandemic challenges, and achieved 120% of the revenue target.

How does it feel to win a 2022 Delta SEA Sales Award?

I was battling COVID at the time of finding out that I had won the award and it was helpful because it was recognition of a long 18 months of developing the Delta PCS business during the COVID pandemic.

What do you like best about your job?

The comradery with colleagues as we work towards a goal and achieve sales and margin success with PCS and delivering on the strategy.

What are your personal keys to success?

Think about your strategy and execute it and defend your strategy and continually empathize with the customer’s needs, then work to balance the vision of Delta with the customer’s desired outcomes.

In this age of digital communication, nothing beats a phone call to hear the customer and listen to their needs.

Any other comments or people you would like to mention?

Yvonne Wang from the BU has single-handedly been the absolute key to the PCS success in Australia. She has helped immensely and been an important day-to-day contact. The service levels we received from Yvonne assisted us greatly as we developed the PCS business from day one. Customers in Australia have continually noted the important contribution.

Support from Shane Arnold in the initial stages of the business development was instrumental to its initial success with David Leal supporting and endorsing the strategy. Presenting to APAC Management month after month for the first 12-15 months with no revenue but having confidence in the strategy was key.   

      2. Tien Nguyen, Delta Vietnam

      -Delta Star Award Winner

      Tien Nguyen achieved $2.3M revenue in 2021. He is KAM of HTC as well as PM of an HTC turnkey project, worth $3.89M. 

      How does it feel to win a 2022 Delta SEA Sales Award?

      I am very happy to receive the Sales Award from the company. I was quite surprised. During a difficult year with the COVID pandemic, we at Delta VN have tried our best to achieve the target.

      What do you like best about your job?

      In my current position, I have a lot of space to develop my capabilities. I was an engineer and now I work in a sales position. So I can design the solution to offer to customers myself. With a good technical background, I can provide optimal solutions for customers in a very short response time. And customers are happy about that.

      What are your personal keys to success?

      • Working hard
      • Care for all the demands from the customer, even small demands
      • Always be honest with customers

      Any other comments or people you would like to mention?

      I could not archive success without support from my manager Mr. Tony Meng. I had just become a salesperson for one year, but he has taught me a lot. Also, his trust in me gives me a lot of confidence in my work

        3. Michael Acar, Delta Philippines

        -Delta Star Award Winner

        Michael Acar cultivated the HVAC market in Philippines and worked with our distributor to drive growth achieving $2.48M in 2021

        How does it feel to win a 2022 Delta SEA Sales Award?

        Good day! First of all, I would like to thank my bosses, Alan and Milo for being my partners and helping to empower me to do the right job.

        I could say many thanks to top management for giving me this prestigious recognition (DELTA STAR AWARD). I am very happy and overwhelmed to receive this kind of recognition.

        I will treasure this award, as the fruit of my labor. Also in another way, I will use this commendation and award, as a motivator to do my job productively.

        What do you like best about your job?

        One thing I love my job is it always gives us the opportunity to grow, not only in the business side but also in the relationship with our partners and client.

        What are your personal keys to success?

        On my end, the key thing for success is trusting yourself and others. Also don’t be afraid to face failure because failure brings us to success if we never stop.

        Any other comments or people you would like to mention?

        Again from the bottom of my heart thank you very much for this significant recognition.

          4.Yudie Soeryadharma, Delta Indonesia

          -Delta Star Award Winner

          Yudie Soeryadharma achieved 170% of his revenue target. He proactively promotes the Delta EV Charging Solution and acts as a sales and field application engineer at the same time. He has built strong bonds with our Indonesia accounts.

          How does it feel to win a 2022 Delta SEA Sales Award?

          It is the first time in my career in Delta to win such an award. I am very proud to win this award and it will encourage me to perform.

          What do you like best about your job?

          EVCS is a new market in Indonesia and becoming the center of attention. Sharing knowledge is the most important way to gain our customers trust and I like to do it.

          What are your personal keys to success?

          Build high self-esteem. Believe in yourself, have confidence, like and feel good about yourself, and take pride in what you do. Focus with a positive attitude. Always expect the best possible outcome for what you do.

          Any other comments or people you would like to mention?

          Mr. Johnny Tam's experience & his network are tremendously helpful and his continuous support from him makes me have a better direction to maintain high performance at work. Besides this, I’d like to thank the BU team, R&D team and regional members for their help, I’m nothing without them.
