Vietnam, the “Paris de l'Est”! A country with rich cultural diversity, friendly customs and beautiful scenery. After the Vietnam War, the country experienced a baby boom that resulted in a demographic dividend and excellent resources to restructure that are key to its rapid economic development today.
As a market with major growth potential for Delta; our marketing strategy in Vietnam is not only to develop local channels and distributors but also to create strategic alliances to maximize resource integration and allocation. We need to ask: How can we take advantage of the demographic dividend to strengthen our business expansion here?
Introducing Delta IA products at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology-BKU
For Delta in Vietnam, the key to our company’s development strategy is hiring the right talent. We believe that if our sales and engineering talents can deepen our brand and make a lasting impression on local customers, then more Vietnamese will chose our products as their first choice.
In the other words, we have to invest in the future which means fostering Vietnamese student talent. We have to pay attention to upcoming talent and promote our products to engineering faculties to get them to use our products or learn our solutions from their first year in university. This will enhance their brand identification of Delta and help us develop our local business much easier in the future.

We started our university outreach project in 2017 and chose the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology-BKU as our key investment targets. We introduced the Delta IA product portfolio and joined engineering summits to share about our solution applications.
To provide a goal and motivate our trainees, we supported the universities to join the Delta advanced automation competition (Delta Cup) in China. We let the student teams practice with our products, which they used to assemble a complete project. Our Vietnamese teams successfully competed against teams from Asia and Europe to win the first prize and second prize at Delta Cup 2019.

So far we’ve got a lot of great feedback from our partner universities even though our project is still at the initial stage. This encouraged us to push on and continue to cooperate to develop projects with other universities in the country. We’ve already started exploring new collaboration models such as donating an EE lab or setting up cooperative education programs.
The Delta IA automation academy project not only promotes Delta business but also invests in Vietnam’s next generation. We believe, it can help us forge a closer relationship with our communities and gain a stable foothold in Vietnam for years to come!
