Celebrating Delta Thailand’s 35 Years Growth with New Milestones

By Victor Cheng - Published April 04, 2024

Sawatdee Krub and thank you again for a warm welcome to sunny Thailand! Since taking the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Delta Thailand in January this year, I have had many opportunities to meet many of you and work on many exciting projects together. This year, I would like to invite all of you to join us in celebrating our 35 years of growth in Thailand. There will be many activities throughout the year for everyone to join.

At the end of February, I was able to join the SEA Leadership Summit in Pattaya to meet leaders from regional sales, production, R&D, IT, HR and other support functions. At Delta, we believe people are our greatest resource and this summit was a great opportunity to meet our leaders in person to share our strategy for the next five years and our commitment to Delta’s core values. A big thanks to HR for organizing this event and all the leaders for sharing their KPIs and commitment to helping Delta grow.

In March, we hosted the Prime Minister of Thailand and Delta Global management at the Delta Plat 8 and R&D Center Grand Opening. This was a major milestone for Delta Thailand as it marks the beginning of a new chapter of growth for us. Thailand is now the number one production center for Delta’s EV business and we will now have EV R&D here in Thailand for the first time. At the same time, our data center and ICT power business is continuing to grow and we will continue our expansion with two new factories under construction at Wellgrow and more to come.

This event owes its success to the hard work of our teams at GPA who facilitated the PM and government visits, and the marketing communications team for organizing the event. A heartfelt appreciation goes out to our teams in production, R&D, facility, procurement, finance, IR, corporate administration and corporate communications who took great care of guests and media from Thailand and abroad.

This was truly a team effort and I want to say “Good Job” to everyone! I believe everyone at Delta around the world is very proud of what our Thailand team has accomplished.

In addition, I want to highlight the ongoing work that our facility teams are doing to set up our new DET8 Factory and DET9 R&D center. These buildings are on higher ground, and you can use indoor parking, so you won’t need to be concerned with flooding. We also have an open green terrace at the DET9 building where you can enjoy your breaks. We will continue to add more facilities to make your workplace more green and convenient so please stay tuned for more updates.

Lastly, I want to emphasize that each of you, regardless of your role, contributes significantly to building Delta. You can be proud to be part of a company that is committed to sustainability and helping Thailand develop for 35 years. Let’s continue to work together towards our mission “To provide innovative, clean and energy-efficient solutions for a better tomorrow.” Thank you!

Yours sincerely,

Victor Cheng, DET CEO
