Delta Electronics SEA has always strived to lead with innovation, foster a culture of collaboration, and empower its employees. The H2 2024 Southeast Asia Townhall exemplified this ethos, as employees across the region came together to connect with the company’s senior leadership and gain valuable insights into Delta’s financial performance, market strategy, and commitment to employee development.

Held on August 8th, 2024, the townhall was attended by over 700 employees from Thailand and neighboring Southeast Asian countries. The session, hosted online by Ms. Anchalee, Delta’s Investor Relations Director, featured a dynamic exchange between CEO Victor Cheng and President and COO Jackie Chang. Together, they provided key updates and addressed employee questions about Delta’s vision for growth in the region.

Record Financial Performance: A Testament to Delta's Strategic Leadership
Victor Cheng opened the session with a look at Delta’s remarkable financial performance in the first half of 2024. The company posted a net profit of USD 4.1 billion in Q2 2024—the highest in 13 years—achieving a profit margin of 15.6%.

“This year’s financial results are a testament to our strategic vision and commitment to operational excellence,” Mr. Victor Cheng, Delta Thailand CEO stated. “Our ability to consistently deliver value to our stakeholders, while navigating challenges, is a reflection of Delta’s strong foundation.”

Victor also emphasized how key business segments, including e-mobility, datacenters, and energy infrastructure, continue to drive growth. “Our leadership in these sectors allows us to capitalize on emerging trends, making us well-positioned for future opportunities.”

Southeast Asia’s Market Potential: Capitalizing on Growth Opportunities
In addition to Delta’s financial success, the Southeast Asian market holds tremendous potential for further growth. Victor highlighted projections for GDP growth of 3.9% in 2024, up from 3.7% in 2023, supported by USD 10.37 billion in Foreign Direct Investment in the first half of 2023 alone.

“The region is rapidly evolving, and Southeast Asia is becoming a hub for industrial transformation,” he explained. “Our focus on e-mobility, automation, and datacenter solutions aligns perfectly with the growing demand for these technologies.”

Victor elaborated on Delta’s strategic focus to leverage its strengths in these high-growth sectors, adding, “From 2024 to 2026, we are targeting an 8-10% CAGR in automation and a 13-15% CAGR in datacenter services. The rise of AI factories and the increasing demand for data infrastructure are just the beginning.”

Employee Growth: Building Future Leaders
A central theme of the Townhall was Delta’s commitment to employee development. Jackie Chang spoke passionately about the company’s structured career growth programs, which offer employees clear paths to advancement. For instance, engineers can expect 1-3 years of development before moving into senior roles, while senior managers follow 14-18 years of development to reach executive levels.

“At Delta, we believe in empowering our people to grow with us,” Mr. Chief Operating Officer & President, Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL. said. “Those who demonstrate high performance and potential will find numerous opportunities for career advancement, both here in Southeast Asia and globally.”

He also highlighted the value of cross-country rotations for career growth, saying, “Delta’s international reach allows employees to gain critical experience across different markets. We have seen many success stories of employees who have taken on leadership roles in key markets worldwide.”

Prioritizing Employee Wellness
Beyond professional development, Delta continues to prioritize the wellness of its workforce. Jackie outlined the numerous programs designed to enhance employees’ physical and mental well-being, including sports competitions, health clinics, and mental health consultations.

“Employee wellness is a top priority for us,” Jackie stated. “We believe that a healthy, engaged workforce is key to our long-term success, and we are continuously investing in programs to support our employees in every aspect of their well-being.”

Plans for future face-to-face mental counseling programs were also announced, reflecting Delta’s ongoing commitment to employee care.

Looking Ahead: A Vision for Continued Growth and Innovation
The Townhall concluded with a robust Q&A session, where employees asked questions about Delta’s strategies for growth and the future of the Southeast Asia market. Victor and Jackie reaffirmed Delta’s commitment to innovation, integrity, and collaboration as core values that will guide the company into the next phase of growth.

As Delta SEA moves forward in the second half of 2024, the company’s vision is clear: to continue leading the market with cutting-edge solutions, while ensuring that every employee is empowered to contribute to the company’s success.

“We are excited about what the future holds for Delta,” Victor concluded. “Our focus remains on innovation, sustainability, and empowering our people to drive forward our shared vision for growth.”

The townhall successfully reflected Delta’s mission to foster an environment where innovation thrives, and people are at the heart of progress. As employees continue to contribute to Delta’s future growth, the company’s commitment to development, wellness, and performance remains stronger than ever. Together, Delta SEA is building a smarter, greener future.
