INGREDIENTS
- 600 g stewing beef cut into large cubes
- 100 g bacon
- 4 large onions , sliced
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- ½ teaspoon caraway
- 2 tablespoons medium fine flour
- Marjoram
- Garlic
- Hot pepper
- Salt
COOKING DIRECTIONS
Step 1: Cut the meat into chunks. Sauté the chopped onion and bacon in a pan. Add the meat, brown it and sprinkle with paprika. Stir and pour on a little hot water, add salt and stew until almost soft. Boil off the liquid until only fat remains, sprinkle with flour, brown, add water and stew until soft.
Step 2: Season the meat with marjoram, mashed garlic and hot paprika to taste and then stew for a short time.
Step 3: Serve the beef goulash with bread dumplings. Decorate with parsley or thin rounds of onion.
Note: Do not roast the paprika, because it would become dark and bitter. Goulash can also be made from equal quantities of meat and onions slides into rounds. The dish can also be served with boiled rice, pasta or loaf of bread.
