Many people say “Sustainability” is part of Delta’s DNA, but did you know that sustainability goes far beyond just saving energy or even protecting our environment? The fact is we can preserve our local biodiversity while protecting our diverse communities. We can power our smart cities while empowering our people. People drive our mission to build a better tomorrow and those of us at Delta today and our next-generation tomorrow will be the ones to carry us into the future and build on our legacy of sustainability.
Our world is changing fast and diversity clearly makes more business sense with each passing day. In the 2020 report of a series of studies by McKinsey, it was found that companies with the best gender diversity on executive teams were 25% more likely to have above-average profitability than companies with the worst. This rate is up from 21% in 2017 and 15% in 2014 which shows the trend is growing.
Thailand is a land with a rich heritage of biodiversity along with cultural and ethnic diversity. Therefore, it is only right that Delta Thailand is highlighting the role of our empowered women, children’s rights and even our LGBT community which has received interest from Delta colleagues around the world and positive attention from international organizations and global partners who value human rights and sustainability.
In this July issue, our theme is Diversity, Equity and Inclusion or DEI which is a new and exciting chapter for all of us on our sustainability journey.
