In the Quiet Hours of the Morning, Leadership Begins with Pramote Mora, IT Director of Manufacturing

By Delta Thailand - Published June 11, 2025

For this issue, we had the opportunity to sit down with someone who is often already deep into his workday while the rest of us are still reaching for our morning coffee. Meet Mr.Pramote Mora, IT Director of Manufacturing, whose nearly 30-year journey with Delta reflects both deep technical expertise and a quiet, steady leadership grounded in human connection.

Since joining Delta in 1998, Pramote has witnessed the company evolve through every major operational shift from traditional production to digital platforms, from local strategies to global coordination. Yet what sets him apart goes beyond his ability to lead change, it’s the grace and composure with which he does so. Calm, insightful, and deeply grounded, Pramote is the kind of leader who earns trust through consistency rather than authority.

From Systems to Synergy

Before joining Delta, Pramote worked at the intersection of IT and production. To him, leadership today is less a top-down directive and more a systems challenge rooted in people.

“It wasn’t just about machines,” he reflects. “It was about how systems connect people. That’s still how I lead today.”

Now at the helm of complex manufacturing operations, he guides teams through customized platforms, layered processes, and multi-national coordination. However, when asked what kind of people he values most on his team, his answer is surprisingly simple.

“We don’t need someone who’s only technical,” he says. “We need someone who can communicate and coordinate across teams, work with production, and build understanding.”

Guiding Change with Empathy

At Delta, many internal systems are custom-built great for flexibility, but often difficult to upgrade. Leading transformation in this environment requires more than technical skill; it requires emotional intelligence.

“Change doesn’t always need to come from a management directive” Pramote explains. “If we want people to embrace it, we need to show them what’s good about it. Help them see how it makes us better.”

This approach reflects his belief that most people want the organization to succeed. The leader’s role, he says, it’s less about imposing and more about inspiring.

A Rhythm Built for Readiness

Pramote’s work ethic begins long before the official workday starts. He arrives at the site by 6:50 a.m., often earlier, and begins by scanning through his inbox for unresolved issues and priorities.

“If I haven’t eaten yet, I’ll go straight to my desk and start checking. Then I’ll grab something quick,” he says.

Even on weekends, the habit of early rising remains. He starts his day with coffee, his iPad, the news, and a quiet moment of personal reset. This structure creates the space he needs to stay grounded, especially as his work environment becomes faster and more demanding.

Navigating a Faster, Global Delta

Delta’s growth has brought new speed, diversity, and complexity to its operations. Rather than seeing a challenge, Pramote sees an evolution.

“There are more people now, more nationalities, and sometimes projects don’t come with full explanations,” he says. “We know it needs to get done.”

One area where this fast pace is especially clear is the digital manufacturing platform. Pramote works closely with teams from Taiwan and China, which requires both flexibility and cultural understanding.

“We didn’t build these systems ourselves,” he explains. “So, we need to see things from their perspective. We learn, we adapt.”Moments of Connection and Meaning

For Pramote, the most powerful moments in his day often come during a crisis. It’s when systems break down or decisions need to be made quickly that he feels most connected to his team.

“That’s when everyone pulls together. That’s when you see what we’re made of.”
He also believes in recognizing effort in a way that resonates through genuine, in-person praise.

“Words spoken directly stay with you longer. They lift people up.”

He still remembers a moment in 2003 when his team was selected for a project. His manager said, “We’re sending our best people.” That memory still fuels him today.Pressure Without the Burden

Despite the intensity of his role, Pramote is careful about how he carries stress.
“If I’m overwhelmed, I exercise. I don’t bring that energy home.”

In high-pressure situations, he gives direction quickly. Although when time allows, he prefers open conversations with his team to understand what happened and how to move forward.

Ideas in the Silence

Some of his best thinking happens outside meetings or group discussions—often in the early hours of the day.

“It’s quiet. No noise, no interruptions. That’s when I think clearly.”

These early-morning reflections help him stay ahead in an industry where reaction time can make all the difference.

Looking Ahead, Staying Prepared

Pramote’s thoughts extend beyond the present. He’s already planning for what Delta will need in the next phase of growth.

“Thailand is becoming a production hub,” he says. “We need to ask do we have enough people? Do they have the right skills? Can we communicate clearly, in Thai, English, and Chinese?”

These questions guide his next moves, with a focus beyond keeping pace on staying ahead.Pride in Progress, Hunger to Learn

There are moments of real pride. One was being chosen to lead during a major acquisition. Another was when Delta’s data center project, under his leadership, received the ASEAN Energy Award 2024.

“That was a proud moment” he says. “It showed what we can achieve when we work together”

Still, He avoids relying on past achievements as a measure of success.

“There’s always more to learn. I try to learn from the people around me every day”

Family as Foundation

Outside of work, Pramote finds joy in simplicity. Time with family, meals out, small trips, and weekend walks through the mall are how he resets and reconnects.

“We don’t need anything big. Being together is what matters.”

A Quiet Force Moving Delta Forward

Leadership doesn’t always announce itself. Sometimes, it arrives early, stays steady, listens first, and leads through action. Mr.Pramote Mora is that kind of leader quiet, consistent, and deeply committed to more than operations: he’s committed to people.

As Delta continues to grow, his presence remains a constant reminder that strength often speaks in silence, not in volume. Sometimes, it’s simply the person who’s already there, ready to begin before the rest of the world catches up.
